Au sein de ce poste, mes responsabilités sont les suivantes:

- Développement d'initiatives intelligentes face au climat dans 13 pays d'Amérique latine et d'Afrique, en créant et diffusant des outils et méthodologies essentiels.

- Formation et mentorat de plus de 200 employés et bénévoles via des ateliers et des formations en ligne et en personne.

- Formulation de stratégies mondiales et régionales, en veillant à l'alignement et à la mise en œuvre de ces stratégies au niveau national.

- Établissement de partenariats stratégiques avec des parties prenantes, soutenant les équipes nationales dans le développement de collaborations pour promouvoir les pratiques intelligentes face au climat.

- Promotion de la coopération sud-sud et de l'apprentissage par les pairs pour faciliter l'adoption de pratiques durables et résilientes.

In charge of the EcoSec (Economic Security) department in the ICRC sub-delegation in Bunia, my responsibilities include:

- Assessing and monitoring the situation: Within the area covered by the sub-delegation, evaluating and tracking the general situation and needs regarding food production, food consumption, livelihoods, essential household items, and capacity building (pillars of economic security according to the ICRC).

- Identifying and implementing projects: Aiming to improve the economic security of vulnerable households living in conflict zones. This involves coordinating with various support departments (logistics, admin/finance, HR, security), preparing and monitoring budgets (over 2 million CHF), implementing field activities, and managing assessment and monitoring activities, among others.

- Managing and coordinating a team: Supervising a team of 6 national staff, including 5 field officers (an agronomist, a nutritionist, a cash specialist, and 2 emergency specialists) and an assistant.

During this short mission, I was involved in the following activities:

- Technical evaluation of livelihoods: Conducted missions to assess livelihoods, with a focus on agriculture, and identified response options for the Economic Security department.

- Coordination of field evaluations: Supervised field evaluations, including surveys of 400 households and focus group discussions. Analyzed the data collected to define needs and propose activities for 2022-2023.

- Stakeholder mapping and networking: Carried out stakeholder mapping and conducted meetings with potential partners and key stakeholders.

- Technical proposals: Developed technical proposals integrating sustainable practices such as local fodder production, agroecological practices, cold production using green energy, and training on good agricultural practices.

Through the Economic Security department, the ICRC conducts various interventions in the agricultural sector, including direct support for agricultural production (seeds, tools, cash, various infrastructure), resilience-building (diversification of activities, market access, training, infrastructure), support to institutions (equipment, training, financial support), and pilot projects & innovation (soilless cultivation, use of drones and remote sensing tools, sector interventions).

As the Regional Agronomist for West Africa, my main activities included:

- Technical support for agricultural programs: Provided support to agricultural programs in nine countries across West and North Africa, developing national strategies and implementing agroecological interventions.

- Strategy and policy development: Contributed to the formulation of global/regional strategies and policies, created tools and technical guides, and monitored regional situations.

- Training and mentorship: Trained and mentored over 50 technical staff through regional workshops and webinars.

- Development of monitoring and evaluation tools: Developed guidelines and standardized tools for the monitoring and evaluation of agro interventions.

- Organization of workshops: Organized the annual workshop on agriculture and livestock, promoting ICRC activities at regional events.

- Support to partnerships: Assisted countries like Mali, Burkina Faso, and Libya in establishing partnerships with agricultural technical services and research institutions.

Having joined the company at its inception, I participated in its structuring from the very beginning. My main responsibilities in this position included:

- Leadership in sustainable sourcing: Created sustainable supply chains in partnership with 20 cooperatives and 900 producers, integrating sustainable practices across 1,300 hectares.

- Cross-departmental collaboration: Worked closely with the Quality, R&D, Production, and Logistics departments to align procurement strategies with company goals and incorporate sustainability into production and supply chain management.

- Capacity building and compliance: Trained over 100 farmers and staff in sustainable practices and compliance standards, managing certification processes including ECOCERT, ISO 22000, and Fair for Life.

- Development of strategic partnerships: Established and maintained relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, producers, and international partners such as GIZ and IFAD.

- Implementation of sustainable practices: Integrated sustainable practices throughout the supply chain, enhancing the company's efficiency and social responsibility.

Conducted a detailed study on agro-ecological practices in the vegetable farming sector of La Réunion, focusing on solutions to erosion and biodiversity loss: "Study on Agro-Environmental Practices and Public Incentive Mechanisms within the Vegetable Farming Sector in La Réunion."

Objectives of the study:

- Establish an assessment and typology of agricultural practices and farms.

- Analyze the incentive measures of the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy), particularly the rural development program, and propose adaptations to the context of La Réunion.

- Identify and propose additional levers for improving agricultural practices.

The study was conducted in partnership with the Parc National de La Réunion and in coordination with various local agricultural sector actors, including the DAAF, the Chamber of Agriculture, CIRAD, and AD2R.

As part of the specialization semester ("Land Management and Planning"), I conducted a study on two watercourses (the Ru and the Mauve) to monitor water quality and plan riverbank management.

In this study, my main tasks included:

- Sampling and analysis of water samples (SEQ-Eau and IBGN);

- Topographic surveys and transects;

- Cartographic work (MapInfo®): representing results related to water quality, cadastral data, and the location of developments;

- Research and analysis of various possible developments for the Mauve;

- Drafting a portion of the final document;

- Oral presentation of the results concerning the developments for the Mauve.

Implementation of a Study and Advisory Mission in the Coffee Sector in Peru.

Activities performed:

- Organization and execution of the mission: Identifying sponsors and funding, constructing budgets and planning activities, organizing and carrying out the field mission.

- Conducting a market study on Peruvian coffee and creating a business plan for the sale of products from cooperatives.

- Project monitoring and coordination.
